another week of learning how not in control i am, especially when it comes to making pottery. kiln issues arose and now they’re fixed and seeing these little guys lined up on my shelves is the reward i needed.

an iced hojicha cooling down the afternoon

      stopped me in my tracks.

fridays are for writing and reading and thinking about what it means to be this lil’ ol’ me in this wild and crazy world and for looking out the window to watch the clouds and start the month on a clean sheet of paper writing down what i’m grateful for and what i hope comes true this hot august day. happy 8th month of the year.

afternoon snack at sarah’s featuring a 2024 wonky silly mug that’s living it’s best life with her.

two weeks and 104 pieces later, it’s time for fire up the kiln in the middle of heat wave and hope for the best :’)

this is why i make pottery. for the afternoon me that wants a little cozy beverage while i finish my book on the couch just before a storm - adding that touch of comfort and magic to a daily ritual.

special delivery for the buddies at happy go lucky. the wonkpad got it’s on info card and packaging and it was a fun time.

the hardest part is showing up. sometimes creativity doesn’t feel fun initially but just like any committed relationship the more you show up, especially on the hard days, the more you grow, learn and open yourself up to the unimaginable. and today that looked like getting much more throwing done than i thought i could.

      the vibes were riiiiight.

halfway through the year and taking a moment to reflect and plan for the half that’s ahead. excited to see where this goes.

it’s always a little surreal when a new collection goes from drawings in my notebook to real life pieces to treasure on my shelves. sending these out into the internet today and feeling accomplished now that this summer collection is complete.

unfortunately patio weather is over, but this was reaaaaaally nice while it lasted. :’)

turning my living room into a photo studio on a wednesday afternoon.

an evening storm and a treat.

every time i get to the photo taking part of the process, i’m exhausted. BUT it feels good to have another collection of work going out into the world again. this iteration of me feels calm but chaotic, cozy and solid, silly and functional, and it’s nice to see the ideas i drew months ago come to life.

my ideal saturday morning moment :’)

vacation’s over, and it’s back to the glazing table! just one more load to get in before the summer shop update.

i brought home spices from my trip to jamaica that remind me of being in my grandma’s kitchen as a child - nutmeg and grinder rolling around the slim draw next to the stove ready for grandma daslin to use on our afternoon oatmeal while we watch bob ross with her in the living room.
