how to care for your wonky work.

every wonky work is either handbuilt or wheel thrown then trimmed, glazed, and fired by me! each piece is unique, one of kind and will show the marks of their maker. these pieces were made with the every day in mind. all the glazes used are food safe unless otherwise stated in the item description.

handwash for longer life.

this method of washing is much gentler than the dishwasher and will maintain the extra long life span of your piece. a thorough wash will ensure that no bacteria sticks around in any crevices and will help protect the surface from abrasion that the dishwasher could cause overtime.

prep your piece for hot liquids.

by rinsing your piece with warm water prior to filling it with your piping hot coffee, you can eliminate any hairline cracks developing from thermal shock, like i mentioned above.

dishwasher + microwave safe.

your piece can handle the dishwasher or the microwave ( i have done so with my pieces and have seen no issues thus far). just be mindful of any drastic temp changes when using any ceramics, because that’s what leads to thermal shock and cracks.

candle tips.

trim that wick!! 1/4 inch will do and make sure you trim before every burn! don’t leave it unattended! make sure it’s away from anything flammable! the vessel can get warm so handle with care and caution! stop using it when about 1/4inch of the wax remains! keep all debris out of the candle!

share pictures your wonky photos with jamie.

i’d love to see how you end up using your piece. please share your photos with @itswonky on instagram! it would make me so happy to know how these lil’ buddies of mine become a part of your everyday routine.
