four days in nicaragua

it was late january when i landed in nicaragua amazed by the ocean blues and the lush landscape. some dear friends visit a home on a hill on the west coast of the beautiful island with the costa rican mountains in view from the balcony a few times a year. i was able to join them and a handful of wonderful humans as they opened the space up for a rejuvenating retreat.

it was a time that i needed more than i realized initially and am so grateful for the opportunity to take a deep breath, immerse myself in a new beautiful environment and truly reflect on what i want, what i’m hoping for and what i want to let go of.

it had been years since i left the country and i was so excited to dive right into the richness that an island both in culture and landscape has to offer. from the colorful city buildings to the rocky coastline, i was enamored by it all.

i find it hard to truly rest when i’m at home since all of my work is right at home with me, and i think that’s why this trip meant a lot to me, it was the first time in a while that i completely shut off and stepped away not able to work even if I wanted to. i think it’s moments like that, that allow the original goals and desires to rise to the surface knocking out any of the other stuff that in the busy of it all got in the way.

grateful for the sights, sounds, colors of this thriving island and looking forward to when i can return again.
